Breastfeeding On The Go Culminating Event with Abbie Yabot + Pigeon Travel Pack Giveaway

I am a Breastfeeding-On-The-Go Momma and it became normal for me to stick my boob out just to provide satisfaction for my baby’s hungry gut.

It’s a mom thing, we’ll say.

People will not always understand and I don’t expect them to. But yesterday, the 1st day of September, I was in a room filled with moms who breastfeed-on-the-go.

I was in awe knowing I am not alone.

Moms opt to use covers because of judgment. People can give different ife meanings based on WHAT THEY THINK IT IS.

For example: A beautiful mom is breastfeeding in public without a cover because the baby is hungry.

Anyone can say “She’s seducing men.” Or “She doesn’t have any respect for herself. She breastfeeds in public, she can do it in the cr.”

It’s sad that moms stop breastfeeding as early because of lack of support and criticism. It’s a good thing for us moms to have support groups like

The Breastfeeding Club

Breastfeeding Pinays

Expressers Pumping Moms PH – Milking Queens

and many many more because being a teen mom is twice the judgment and difficulty. Some will say, “You built a family too early! You ruined your life.” but inside me, I really want to say “This made me alive. I didn’t have a life before. Nothing’s ruined.”

And everyday, I get to experience it over and over and over again. So I am so thankful for Mrs Abbie Yabot and Mrs Rachelle Carpio for inviting me in the Breastfeeding On The Go 2018’s Culminating Event. I didn’t feel alone nor judged. I am hoping I’d be included in the exhibit next year hihi.

So, what have we learned?

Last night, while eating the Mommy Treats on the way home, I asked my partner…

Me: Did you learn anything?

Chris: of course!

Me: oh really? What have you learned?

Chris: the difference between direct latch and indirect latch, and don’t breastfeed in the cr.

Good job Mrs Abbie and other guests! Our partners learned, too!

Moms shared how they managed to breastfeed for 2 years and beyond. I am always amused by how Mrs. Yabot breastfed for 6 years!

They’ve dealt with judgment, pain, decrease in supply but they overcame it all. How? Here are some tips.

• Water — make sure to drink 3 liters of water daily.
• Balanced Sugar Intake — the more sugar you take, the less your milk will be.
• Consistency — follow the pumping schedule if you pump and nurse whenever possible.
• Make sure the Latch is Good — a wrong latch can cause Milk Blebs, sore nipples, less supply and more complications putting your child’s health at risk.
• Position and Relaxation — if you’re not relaxed and baby is a complete chaos, nothing will calm him down and you can’t breastfeed him. If you’re relaxed, your baby can calm down too, then you can put him in a comfortable position thus having a good latch and happy baby.
• Don’t Care About The World — I learned this from Ms Sanya who loved my name hihi.
• No Two Babies Are The Same — Celebrity Mom Mrs Jolina Magdangal-Escueta shared how she thought she’d be having the same everything with her second child. This lead her to calling Ms Abbie Yabot for help hihi. She’s as jolly as it looks in TV.
