Traveling from Laguna to Manila and Back With P600.00 All In

As a blogger, events helps us to meet with people who inspire us, collaborate with them and know other brands we can work with. That’s why I try my best to go to events that I am invited by the organizers themselves. Why just those invitations? Because it’s my way of thanking them for remembering me even though I am a freshman in the industry. They are the first priority.

But that doesn’t mean that I ignore the extended invites. Every time I get extended invites, that’s when I check if we can still allot some budget for that. If we can, then we go. If we can’t, then we can’t.

There are times that you will be tested by the Lord in terms of finance even though everything went smoothly. It normal. We all go through that stage in life.

Last September 1st, I got invited by Lactation Counselor and La Leche League Leader Mrs. Abbie Yabot and the WonderMomma herself, Mrs. Rachelle Carpio to attend the Culminating Event of the Breastfeeding On The Go Exhibit.

Side note: if you need some help regarding breastfeeding and breastmilk, just send Ms Abbie a message on instagram. She’s very nice and always smiling and we really love her!

That time, we don’t have any money for events. But I prayed to the Lord to help us get some money so that we can go. That afternoon, my partner got a client. Boom! P600.00! (Tithes were already deducted)

The event was held in La-Z Boy Gallery in Shangri La Plaza in Mandaluyong. I have never been to that place. We don’t know how to go there so we asked for help from Google.

~

We now know how to go, but we don’t know if we have enough. I would joke “What if we don’t have enough money? How will we go home?” but our faith is strong that God gave us enough.

•From San Pablo City to Alabang, Muntinlupa, fare is P97.00. It will drop you off on Starmall Alabang. There’s two of us so P97.00×2=P194.00

•When we alighted in Alabang, we didn’t have the time (and money) to eat so we proceeded to the bus station going pass Shaw Boulevard. It’s like a 15 meter walk forward from the drop off point. Fare is P48.00 × 2 = P96.00

•When you hear the conductor say that Megamall is the next stop, you should go down now. If it’s your first time, ask the conductor to tell you if you’re in Shaw and make sure to sit near the door. If not possible, look out for those people going to Shaw so you will not be lost. If you can’t hear them, ask your seatmate (seatmate daw? Lah! Hahahaha) if he can tell you when you’re already in Shaw.

•You’ll alight with near the MRT Station. Walk forward and then cross the road, turn left and you’ll find Shangri La. Make sure you’ll the the Old Navy shop in the corner.

Good news: we can go home.

Bad news: we are hungry.

~

We arrived just in time. Just a few minutes after, we started. Halfway through the event, we were given snacks. Yummy, yummy snacks and water. They even gave us a Mommy Treats sampler box to take home.

After the event, we head onto the other side of the road, and waited for a bus back to Alabang then from Alabang, to San Pablo.

Fares were the same so we even had some change to buy some SkyFlakes for dinner.

When we got home, we had a yummy dinner don’tya worry.

I realized that we can really support the people we admire even though we have less than a thousand! If we can, I know you can do better!

I also realized that these types of adventures are the ones so special for us, because it tests our temper, our trust in each other and especially the trust in God. Just like how Abraham went out without knowing where he’s going but he trusts in the Lord that He will bring him to the best place he is supposed to be because he obeyed.

TIP: STICK TO THE BUDGET AND BRING SOME EXTRA IF YOU CAN.

PS: if you’re an event organizer or if you have events that you want us to be a part of, please do send me an e-mail here or through my social media accounts.

I hope you learned how to go to Shangri La Plaza! Til next time!
